MEET YOUR NEW 2002 - 2003 CCRA BOARD MEMBERS

My name is Amanda Maze, formerly Amanda Greene.  I am recently married, 28, don’t have kids yet, and live in Thornton – the northeast end of the Denver Metro area.  I grew up outside of San Francisco, and my exposure to the legal field started early, as my mother was a law firm office manager and legal secretary.  She went to court reporting school when I was in high school, but had to drop out when I was college-bound.  I was a paralegal, which I didn’t like doing, before I became a court reporter.  I went to school at the Denver Academy of Court Reporting, graduating in April of 2000.  Therefore, I have been reporting for just over two years now.  I work primarily for Calderwood-Mackleprang, but I overflow for several firms and do sub work for the courts in my area.  I am CCRA’s membership chairperson and am on the student committee, working with the mentor program.

Hello.  My name is Tammy Knoepfle, and I am an official reporter in Adams County.  My reporting career started in 1988, when I got my first official position down in Lamar, Colorado, working for Judge Nieschburg.  Judge Nieschburg is a wonderful judge and just a real nice person.  I was very young and had so much to learn.  Judge Nieschburg was very patient, and I learned a lot from him.  After about a year and half down in Lamar, I got a call from the judge that I did my internship with in Brighton, Colorado.   His reporter was going to be leaving, and he offered the position to me.  Brighton was actually the place that I had always wanted to work, and at that time, back “in those days”, landing an official position was next to impossible.

I have been with Judge Ensor for over 12 years now.  He spoils me rotten, and I know it, and I tell him that all the time.  Judge Ensor is married to a court reporter too, and he really does have an understanding about how hard we really do work, and the concentration that it takes to report everything that is said.  We do have a real-time courtroom, and my judge –no, I’m not possessive of him at all—uses the real-time for every trial that we do.  It has become a necessity for him, and I’m glad to be able to provide that to him.

Anyway, I’m a mother to a beautiful, bright and funny little girl, Amanda.    Amanda is 7 years old, and is such a delight.  I enjoy listening to her play the piano, even though sometimes it’s a battle to get her to practice.  It’s beautiful and amazing to watch her.  I look forward to being on the board for CCRA, and hopefully I’ll be able to be an asset to the board, during my time on the board.  There really isn’t much else to tell about myself.  I love reporting. I can’t think of anything else I would want to do.  I love being an official reporter, and having that special relationship with your judge and your clerks.  Our division is like family.  I can say that I really do enjoy going to work.  Thanks for letting me have a chance to introduce myself and my daughter to you.  Tammy Knoepfle
